Darin first began plunking out tunes on his parents' living room piano in Oregon at the age of 11. Entirely self-taught on piano, guitar, and bass, his influences range from piano icons Elton John and Billy Joel, deeper into classic rock, 80's hard rock, grunge, and modern metal as well as dives into hardcore, thrash, and djent. Sketch Eclectic is born of that soup mixed with Denia's tastes and style which diverge considerably - making for an interesting and wholly unique blend.
Darin is also an active bodybuilder and full-time bodybuilding coach.

Denia and Darin met online in 2013, and have been inseparable ever since. Some compelling life experiences have recently nudged Denia to find her songwriting voice, and so have Darin's musical compositions. Previous band credits include Soul Candy and the Traffic Jam, Dave and Denia, and Wabi Sabi and the Perfect Fifth. For 20 years, Mrs. Kirk has been sharing her love of the arts with elementary students in the Knoxville area - currently leading Webb Lower School's Art and Theatre Workshop programs. You might find Denia directing an occasional play, adapting scripts for children's shows, producing a vintage radio style podcast, or creating visual art.
